About the Artist

Carolina Fernandez
“I paint fearless. My signature expressionistic flowers are painted in a bright, snappy palette in quick, bold strokes.”

Artistic Philosophy

Carolina grounds her creative practice in spiritual discipline and intentional focus. Her work reflects “the wellspring of one's soul and mind,” shaped by daily meditation and concentration on virtuous concepts. This inner peace translates into joyful, vibrant artwork.

The Journey

Her artistic journey began in Miami, where a Colombian mentor taught her foundational skills in realism, color theory, and form through intensive outdoor painting sessions. She later studied in Connecticut at the Silvermine Arts Center under Master Painter Clyde Smith, who identified her distinctive quick, bold brushwork and guided her transition from oil to acrylic and from realism toward expressionism and fauvism.

Today

Carolina maintains studios in Miami and rural Connecticut. Since 2012, she has collaborated with women and girls in Rwanda, creating large-scale pop art hearts using handmade pom-poms as part of mixed-media work. Profits from these international projects support bakeries and work centers in underserved communities.

Her signature expressionistic florals appear in original paintings, prints, and decorative accessories.
